1. How much time does Spinifex DJ Entertainment allow for set-up and pack down?

Spinifex DJ Entertainment sets up well in advance of your guest's arrival. It is required that we be permitted access a minimum of 90minutes before the allocated start time and 60 minutes after the finish time for packing down. More time is required if there is, difficult access to the set up area, long distance between vehicle parking and set up area, if the set up area is up stairs, if equipment has to be loaded into a lift to reach set up area or if equipment has to be lifted onto a stage. *If equipment has to be lifted up stairs or onto a stage (above knee height) additional rate applies.*

2. Does Spinifex DJ Entertainment use professional equipment and provide back-up equipment in case of an emergency?

Professional modern DJ equipment is all that Spinifex DJ Entertainment uses. We use trusted, reputable brands of equipment. In doing so, equipment failure is rare, but in the unlikely event that back up equipment is needed Spinifex DJ Entertainment has more than enough equipment to get the show on the road.

3. Does Spinifex DJ Entertainment provide a written contract?

It is extremely important to have your booking confirmed in writing. That's why our professional DJ services are confirmed by a 'written contract' and a 'booking form', covering all the details of your event. Having a written contract offers the guarantee that we will show up on the day. The contract is your protection as well as peace of mind. Not having your booking confirmed in writing causes a huge opportunity for error. By having confirmation in writing and a written contract, everything is then clear and concise for both parties.

4. Will Spinifex dj's be suitably dressed for our occasion?

Presentation is everything! Our spinifexdjs are well groomed, freshly shaven and clean. Whatever function, they look the part every time. Weddings/ Formal Events/ Corporate Events you'll find our spinifexdjs dressed smartly in a suite and tie. Non formal events like parties/ functions/school balls & disco's you'll find our spinifexdjs in dress pants, dress shirt and tie. Often different events command different attire, like theme nights. So if you want your spinifexdj in a theme costume, this can easily be arranged at an additional charge.

5. Do Spinifex dj's take any breaks?

One of the major advantages to using a DJ instead of a band is that a DJ does not need to take breaks, outside of using the restroom and possibly eating a meal quickly (generally in another room). From the allocated start time right through to the designated finish time spinifexdjs can assure you that there will be no break in the music at any point during the night, unless of course there are speeches, presentations or happy birthday to be sung.

6. Do Spinifex dj's require a meal?

Please don't feel obligated to include the DJ in your meal count. You may wish to ask your caterer or reception centre if "services staff" meals are provided, as they can often be for staff and entertainers. Obviously your DJ is working during a normal meal time and will be working right through till probably 2 hours after your function ends. Sparing a thought to make sure they have something to eat to give them the energy to do there job to fullest capacity can go a long way. A hungry DJ is not a happy DJ.

7. Will Spinifex dj's play music at the appropriate volume?

Many inexperienced DJ's work on the principle that "it's got to be LOUD to be good". Being a true professional mobile DJ company, we concentrate on quality of the sound, not quantity. Having the right volume over dinner is important as you want your guests able to communicate comfortably with each other. Once the party starts we will spend time on the night ensuring that your seated guests can still talk comfortably while others are dancing.

8. Do Spinifex dj's take requests from our guests?

All spinfexdjs will take requests when working. Whether the requested song will be played can not be guaranteed. Playing the music you and guests want to hear is what spinifexdjs is all about. But the DJ is the one who will know what songs will work and what time it would be most appropriate to play them. The DJ is governed by his dance floor, if the DJ feels other people won't like or wouldn't perhaps dance to the song you have requested it will either be played at a more appropriate time or not at all. We have to use our judgment to be able to play to a crowd as whole.

9. Can we submit a "Do Not Play" list?

Spinifexdjs welcome's a "Do Not Play" list. Any professional DJ should be willing to honor your requests, including your request for certain songs and genres to not be used. Submitting a "Do Not Play" list will give a DJ a clear idea of your limits and your expectations for their song selections at your event. But also bare in mind, songs you may not like and put on the "Do not play list" may be songs that pack a dance floor, would you rather 50 people on your dance floor or 10 people on your dance floor?

10. Does Spinifex DJ Entertainment belong to any professional associations or trade groups?

Spinifex DJ Entertainment has met the high standards to be an Accredited Member of The WA Disc Jockey Association and has done for numerous years now. If a DJ is serious about his craft and interested in becoming a better performer, they will often join a local DJ association or trade group. These are great opportunities for DJs to interact with one another, share ideas, and network with other DJs who might be able to help them should they ever have an emergency. Being a member of an association shows a willingness to grow and improve there business and there DJ skills. Members of associations have to meet and up hold high standards of performance, customer service, knowledge, skill and professionalism, which gives our customers peace of mind there dealing with someone who knows what there doing.
